  1. Alex Schleber  I for one applaud this. Train the Walmart consumers on the sustainable alternatives… WM has after all had organic milk & non-BGH cheese, etc. for a while now. I don’t shop there but maybe once every month or two, but when I do, getting eco detergent might be just the thing that fits with the trip.

    1. Eric Goldstein  I think visionary.

      • RECOVERY by Creation
It has been said “necessity is the mother of invention”. I add to that, “ if you want to do something very much you will think of a way to do it” In a recent article from Ebeling Heffernan it was reported that “economists had expected manufacturing in the USA to slow in August, but the closely watched figures from the Institute of Supply Management pointed to an acceleration of output growth even as separate regional surveys painted a more downbeat picture. A surprise bounce in manufacturing activity in the World’s 2 biggest economies in August cheered...<div class="field field-name-related-photos field-type-node-reference field-label-hidden field-bundle-story"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><img src="http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/mobile_rss/hash/ac/ad/acad2e87e13a83c452b9d3ef0b79931a.jpg" alt="" /></div></div></div>

      • Facebook reunites family after 24 years
To say that Facebook is a powerful tool would be an understatement - especially since it has the power to reunite families, friends and change the course of lives. Being on the receiving end of benefiting from the power of social media took me back the other day. Going about my daily routine of checking my Facebook messages, I received one from a name I did not recognize. The message was simple- "I am wondering if you are related to _______. Would like to hear from you if you are..........I used to be married to ______." As I was reviewing what  friends she had I realized...

      • TOP 10 Most Engaging Rhode Island Tweeters
This morning I woke up to find I had received an email stating that I was listed as one of Rhode Island top 50 tweeters.  Not breaking news, I know.  But then I wondered based on what.  After browsing the list I realized it was based on followers.  Not engaging others or content.   The last article I wrote for Examiner was entitled, ENGAGE to be engaging.  Based on my research from the GoLocal Prov article, my goal was to uncover who were the top 10 of that top 50 list based on tweets, content & engaging an audience; and not just from the amount of...

      • ENGAGE to be engaging
Social Media is about social engagement. So how can all of us be more effective online? 1. Participate in social networks 2. Help moderate forums and contribute to discussions 3 Regularly submit content: blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos;    researching industry-related events or groups adding new applications    to social networks for additional Profile features. Some of the phrases I have coined to simplify things a bit: "Engage to be engaging" "Listen. Connect. Engage. Grow." Without engaging your friends, consumers, clients and potential...

      • Many happy go-rounds
During a recent trip to NYC, I had the opportunity to meet several amazing people as a result of social media marketing, public relations & reaching out to others to assist. I came across a sign at the entrance of the carousel in Central Park which reads in part:  "The Renovation of the Carousel Is A Gift... In Return For Many Happy Go-Rounds" Many Happy Go-Rounds explains so much. Think about it. In life all ofus have ups and downs, going in circles surrounded by others doing the same thing. Sometimes the ride is fast & other times slow. The point is - continue...
